Privacy Policy

There’s not much point having a privacy policy that nobody can understand – so we’ve chucked the fine print and the legal bumf. Our privacy policy is pretty simple and it should be simple to read as well!

What kind of information do you collect?

We don’t record any data on you except what you fill in when you buy our products or sign up for an account – so there’s no snooping, no monitoring and no creepily-targeted ads.

Does anyone else see my data?

We don’t rent, sell or otherwise distribute your data to any third party for commercial purposes. The information you give us may be shared with our third party suppliers – that’s Shopify (our website platform), Mailchimp (our email marketing platform), and the postman (who makes sure you get your stuff). They’ll look after your data as well, but if you want to know more about how they use it then have a look at their privacy policies as well. We are responsible for your information, and we will never allow our suppliers to use it in any way that contravenes the data protection regulations.

This website also has links to other third party websites such as Facebook and Twitter – we can’t be responsible for personal information any of these third parties might collect and use via their own website, so make sure you’ve read their privacy policies as well!

Would you ever disclose my information?

If you're on the run from the law, I'm afraid we can't help you. If a governmental body or law enforcement agency requires us to disclose your data, we're legally obliged to help them out. If a third party ever acquired our business or assets, our data records may be transferred to them - in this case though we'd let everyone know what was happening and make sure they were happy with it.

Where is my data sent?

The transfer of your data to our third party suppliers might take it to providers and processors in countries outside the European Economic Area, including servers located in the US. Although these countries don't operate under the same data protection laws as the UK, we make sure that our suppliers are certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework, and that their standards comply with the level of protection required by our data guidelines.

What about marketing, though?

If you’ve said we can get in touch with you, then we might keep you up to date with what’s new in My World, any special offers we have on or any changes you need to be aware of in terms of product price or availability. We promise we won’t bombard you, and there’ll always be an option to unsubscribe.

Is my data secure?

My World customer accounts require an email address and password to log in – it’s up to you to a) keep this secure and not disclose it to anyone else, and b) remember it. Account passwords are encrypted, which means we can’t see them. We can’t resend forgotten passwords either – we can only reset them. We and our third party suppliers have taken both technical and organisation measures to make sure your data is kept safe and secure, and if there was ever any kind of security breach or data risk we would let you know within seventy-two hours.

What are my rights?

Your data is yours and you have absolute control over it. If you'd like to find out more about how we use and store your data, amend or update the data we hold on your, change your preferences about how we use your data or if you want us to erasure your data completely, just get in touch with this form.

By using this website, you confirm that you have read and understood this privacy policy – but let’s be real, nobody really reads these things, so if you have any questions, problems or changes you want making then just get in touch.
