My World

My Year - 1996

1996 was the year in which the EU enforced a ban on British Beef, Oasis sang Don’t Look Back in Anger and Never Mind the Buzzcocks made its TV debut. It was a year that Take That split, Sir Cliff sang in the rain at Wimbledon and Dolly the Sheep was cloned. The game came home to England in football’s Euro 96 and the popular computer games of Quake and Tomb Raider were launched.
