My World

This is gonna be a week and a half, folks. Well, I say that; obviously it isn't really going to be a week and a half, it's going to be about five days, but it is going to be jam-flipping-packed nevertheless! Yesterday the action kicked off with Michael Donovan's book launch down in Lytham St Annes, in one of the nicest independent bookshops I've been in. Plackitt and Booth kindly agreed to host the event and supplied wine and nibbles to a publisher's dream and a health and safety nightmare. The people were wall to wall, floor to ceiling, front to back and hanging from the light fittings. V gratifying, if somewhat warm where I was sitting down at the front.

Helen Cadbury also came along - Helen's launch will be in York Waterstones this coming Wednesday - and they both signed books for the admiring multitudes before coming along for pizza afterwards. We only got back at about one in the morning, so if this is all making very little sense then I apologise profusely, but it was an absolutely fantastic start to what should be a week to remember. Maybe even a week and a half...
